made out of a curtain
At the age of 8 Simon Porte Jacquemus got inspired by Jean-Paul Gaultier's TV perfomance and used a lace curtain to create a skirt for his mother.
Valerie Jacquemus did not scold her son for damaging her curtains. Instead she put on the skirt to take him to school next day and proudly showed it to everyone.
After finishing school Simon went в ESMOD – a French private school of fashion located in Paris.

The movie was released in 1963. Simon confesses that it is one of his main inspiration sources.

I watched it at the age of 18 and I was really shocked. After that I decided to name each Jacquemus collection «La Femme», «L’homme» etc. I even used same fonts as the film director. I was obsessed.
